Application of UHF RFID Integrated Readers in the Warehouse and Logistics Industry
The Necessity of Using UHF RFID Integrated Readers
In traditional commodity logistics management, barcodes are the main means of product identification, but barcodes still have many insurmountable shortcomings: barcodes are read-only, need to be aligned, can only be read one at a time, and are easily damaged; more importantly, over five billion types of goods are produced worldwide every year, and the globally used commodity barcodes, composed of 12 digits, are nearly exhausted.
In contrast, UHF RFID Integrated Readers are rewritable, do not need alignment for usage, can read multiple items simultaneously, are robust for all-weather use, and do not require human intervention for operation.
Applications of UHF RFID Integrated Readers in Logistics
Inbound and Inspection
When goods with electronic tags arrive at the distribution center, the fixed rfid reader at the entrance can automatically read multiple tags at a distance. Based on the read information, the management system will automatically update the inventory list.
Sorting and Replenishment of Goods
Transport vehicles equipped with UHF RFID Integrated Readers automatically sort the goods and deliver them to the correct positions according to the instructions from the computer management center. Meanwhile, the inventory list is updated with the latest goods' location. The inventory replenishment system will automatically send a request to the management center when inventory drops below a specified quantity. According to the management center's orders, the corresponding quantity of goods will be replenished within the stipulated time.
If any goods are found placed in the wrong location during sorting or replenishment, the reader will immediately alert the management center, and the transport vehicle will relocate the goods to the correct designated position as per instructions.
UHF RFID Integrated Readers by rfid manufacturers play a significant role in various logistics stages, mainly in the retail, warehousing, transportation, and distribution phases. After applying UHF RFID Integrated Readers, goods transportation in logistics will achieve high automation.
When goods leave the distribution center and pass through the warehouse exit within the reader's effective range, it will automatically read the information on the goods' tags without scanning, thus allowing immediate outbound logistics. Remote reading makes inventory checks and locating goods faster and more efficient.
Advantages and Development Prospects of UHF RFID Integrated Readers in Logistics
As a significant application area of the Internet of Things, logistics has achieved good efficacy in logistics management and the development of the IoT industry. Logistics is just one of the application fields of uhf rfid integrated reader, with automated inventory management.
UHF RFID, featuring long-distance reading, multi-tag reading, and high-speed reading, is likely to replace barcode scanning technology within a few years, bringing significant changes to logistics management. This will promote the development of new retail and enhance the technological content of logistics and the real economy.
UHF RFID Integrated Readers enable efficient long-distance inbound and outbound management, product inventory control, and intelligent logistics technology.
Besides having a long reading distance, UHF RFID also boasts fast reading speeds, making UHF RFID Integrated Readers highly suitable for non-contact data collection and exchange scenarios like material tracking, carrier vehicles, warehouse shelves, and identifying other targets. They are widely used in logistics management, including warehouse management, transportation management, material tracking, and shelf identification, especially for anti-theft in supermarkets.
